| Abstract: | Investigates behaviour of dovekies (Alle alle) when breeding colonies are attacked by glaucous gulls (Larus hyperboreus). Finds that dovekies are more likely to evacuate colony when gull approaches at low to medium height (<60 m above colony) and flies with steady wing beat or irregular flight pattern, and that evaluation of threat of predation is based on behaviour and approach height.. |
