Record #179306:
Rientrato l'annunciato buco nell' ozono dell' Artide / Anon.
Title: | Rientrato l'annunciato buco nell' ozono dell' Artide / Anon. |
Translated title: | The predicted hole in the Arctic ozone layer has not materialised. |
Date: | 2005. |
Language: | Italian and English. |
In: | Polar News = Notizie Polari. (2005.), Vol. 20(5) (2005) |
Abstract: | Outlines findings from analysis of data from Swedish Odin satellite indicating that no Arctic ozone hole will appear in winter 2005. Notes that temperature in stratosphere is increasing, resulting in release of nitrogen compounds from ice clouds over North Pole. Nitrogen reacts with chlorine and prevents it from destroying ozone. |
Notes: | Polar News = Notizie Polari. Vol. 20(5) :33-34 (2005). |
