| Abstract: | Conzelmann came from south Germany to Rovaniemi in June 1942. He befriended and treated local people besides his troops, and was nicknamed "Uncle Doctor". After treaty between Finland and Soviet Union, he took part in bitter retreat of 200 000 troops to Norway, and described their scorched earth in letters to his wife. He also described everyday life by Kemijoki river, including Saami life. |
