Record #179076:

Spatial distribution of diffusive type fine structure observed on 26.7-27.2σθ surfaces in the Gulf of Alaska / Yutaka Isoda, Shogo Tagaki, Akinori Murata, Noriyuki Sugawara.

Title: Spatial distribution of diffusive type fine structure observed on 26.7-27.2σθ surfaces in the Gulf of Alaska / Yutaka Isoda, Shogo Tagaki, Akinori Murata, Noriyuki Sugawara.
Author(s): Isoda, Yutaka.

Date: 2004.
In: Hokkaido University. Faculty of Fisheries. Bulletin. (2004.), Vol. 55(1) (2004)
Abstract: Examines possible cause of diffusive type fine structure with several temperature inversions in Gulf of Alaska, using data from hydrographic observations in eastern North Pacific sub-Arctic region carried out in June-July 1995, 1996 and 1997. Results suggest that cross-gyre flow from subtropical region east of Japan to Gulf of Alaska contributes to maintenance and transport of diffusive type water masses along North Pacific Intermediate Water density range.
