Record #178749:

Determining the contribution of Antarctica to sea-level rise using data assimilation methods / Robert J. Arthern, Richard C.A. Hindmarsh.

Title: Determining the contribution of Antarctica to sea-level rise using data assimilation methods / Robert J. Arthern, Richard C.A. Hindmarsh.
Author(s): Arthern, Robert J.
Hindmarsh, Richard C. A.
Date: 2006.
Abstract: Considers problem of forecasting future behaviour of Antarctic ice sheet. Describes method for optimising forecast by combining model of ice sheet flow with observations. Proposes that, under certain assumptions, linearized model of glacial flow can be combined with observations of thickness change, snow accumulation and ice-flow to forecast Antarctic contribution to sea-level rise.
