Record #178743:

Recent trends in Antarctic snow accumulation from Polar MM5 simulations / Andrew J. Monaghan, David H. Bromwich, Sheng-Hung Wang.

Title: Recent trends in Antarctic snow accumulation from Polar MM5 simulations / Andrew J. Monaghan, David H. Bromwich, Sheng-Hung Wang.
Author(s): Monaghan, Andrew J.
Bromwich, David H.
Wang, Sheng-Hung.
Date: 2006.
Abstract: Reports use of Polar MM5, mesoscale atmospheric model optimised for use over polar ice sheets, to simulate Antarctic snow accumulation in recent decades. Evaluates two sets of simulations, with different initial and boundary conditions, for 17 yr period from 1985-2001. Finds broad agreement between datasets for annual precipitation trends, generally agreeing with ice core and snow stake accumulation records at various locations around continent, indicating broad area of both upward and downward trends.
