Abstract: General account of small island of Tuppiap Qeqertaa (formerly known as Tobias Island), situated 80 km off north-east Greenland coast. Notes that island was discovered in 1993; that it is covered by ice-cap rising to 35 km above sea-level; that minor parts of island are ice-free with small hills of gravel; that Late Holocene marine bivalve shells have been found; and that three species of moss are only land plants to have been found on island.
