Abstract: | Reports fieldwork at rock art site in Badjelánnda, discovered in 1990. Explains iconic meaning of images, in particular boats, and relationship to Saami-Nordic interaction. Also explores symbolic meanings of pictures within cosmology, world-view and ritual life of Mountain Saami, and compares with motifs on Saami drums dating from historical period. |
