Paleozoic links among some Alaskan accreted terranes and Siberia based on megafossils / Robert B. Blodgett, David M. Rohr, A.J. Boucot.

Title: Paleozoic links among some Alaskan accreted terranes and Siberia based on megafossils / Robert B. Blodgett, David M. Rohr, A.J. Boucot.
Author(s): Blodgett, Robert B.
Rohr, David M.
Boucot, A. J.
Date: 2002.
Publisher: Boulder, CO: Geological Society of America
In: Tectonic evolution of the Bering Shelf - Chukchi Sea - Arctic Margin and adjacent land masses. (2002.),
Abstract: Reports biogeographically distinctive Palaeozoic fossil biotas from Farewell terrane of south-west Alaska which document close ties to Siberia and Urals. Close ties are especially notable in Middle Cambrian trilobites, Upper Ordovician brachiopods, Upper Silurian brachiopods and aphrosalpingid sponges, Lower Devonian brachiopods, and Permian plants. Biogeographic links suggest that Farewell terrane most likely represents continental margin sequence that rifted away from Siberian continent.
