Abstract: Description of Tungusy (Evenki) from A Description of Siberian Peoples (Russian State Archive of Ancients Acts, collection 181, file 1386). Highlights their inherently decent nature, hospitality and generosity and also injustice with which native peoples are treated in Siberia. Gives details of some of their customs: swearing oaths, utensils for eating and drinking, hunting, orientation, use and design of bows and arrows.
