Abstract: Describes International Tundra Experiment, international project comprising collaboration of ecologists from 12 countries working at 27 high-latitude circumpolar stations. Project aims to simulate climate change across sites, in order to understand ecosystem response among contrasting vegetation types. Experiments are designed to manipulate local factors that will change with climate (temperature, soil moisture and levels of limiting nutrient) to demonstrate effect of interacting variables on tundra vegetation.
