Record #177915:

The Ilímaussaq alkaline complex, south Greenland - an overview of 200 years of research and an outlook / Henning Sørensen.

Title: The Ilímaussaq alkaline complex, south Greenland - an overview of 200 years of research and an outlook / Henning Sørensen.
Author(s): Sørensen, Henning.
Date: 2006.
In: Meddelelser om Grønland. Geoscience. (2006.), Vol. 45 (2006)
Abstract: Reviews outcome of 200 years of geological investigations and presents synthesis of petrology of Ilímaussaq complex. Notes that site of complex was invaded successively by augite syenitic, alkali granitic and nepheline syenitic melts. Considers models for evolution of complex and concludes that agpaitic rocks of complex were formed from at least two successive magma injections, which formed respectively roof series and kakortokite-lujavrite sequence.
