Abstract: | Investigates character of relationship between Arctic and outside world in context of impacts of globalisation and climate change. Argues that, in addition to negative impacts of globalisation, positive effects can be discerned, including growing geostrategic importance of region, scientific view of North as laboratory for research, diversity of nature and cultures, and growing emphasis on innovations in governance and co-management. |
