| Abstract: | Examines phenological changes in Fennoscandia and Kola peninsula, using NOAA AVHRR GIMMS NDVI data sets obtained from weather satellites, together with in-situ data. Finds high regional differences in trends in onset of spring, with strongest delay occurring in most continental section of northern boreal zone, but much less variation in timing of midsummer across study area. Considers implications of climate variation for reindeer pasture, particularly moisture-preferring plant species. |
