Record #177563:

Changes in reindeer herding and their effects on occupational accidents / Anneli Pekkarinen.

Title: Changes in reindeer herding and their effects on occupational accidents / Anneli Pekkarinen.
Author(s): Pekkarinen, Anneli.
Date: 2006.
In: International Journal of Circumpolar Health. (2006.), Vol. 65(4) (2006)
Abstract: Investigates risk of occupational accidents in reindeer herding work in long run, and effect of changes of work processes caused by joining European Union on accident statistics. Finds that about 100 accidents of reindeer herders are compensated by the Farmers' Social Insurance Institution annually. Also notes that changes in work processes could be seen as trends in classification of accidents (accidents relating to feeding tasks increased, while accidents relating to slaughtering decreased), but that differences were not statistically significant.
