Abstract: | Investigates HIV testing patterns, perceptions and risk factors within seven community organisations, using face-to-face interviews. Objective of project is to describe prevalence of HIV testing, describe issues concerning confidentiality relating to HIV testing, identify prevalence of risk factors for HIV transmission, and build research capacity in aboriginal community. Results indicate that participants with HIV risk factors are more likely to be tested for HIV in rural areas and confidentiality issues were not barrier to testing for most participants. |
