| Abstract: | Describes dinoflagellate cyst assemblages from Volgian-Ryazanian boundary strata of western Barents Shelf. Notes low species diversity and moderate to low abundance. Correlates assemblages with Paragonyaulacysta borealis assemblage zone in Arctic Canada and north-west Siberia (Late Volgian to Ryazanian). Finds no dinoflagellate cyst extinctions or first appearances which can be directly used to determine Volgian-Ryazanian stage boundary in region. |
