Assessment of three mapping techniques to delineate lakes and ponds in a Canadian High Arctic wetland complex / Laura Brown, Kathy L. Young.

Title: Assessment of three mapping techniques to delineate lakes and ponds in a Canadian High Arctic wetland complex / Laura Brown, Kathy L. Young.
Author(s): Brown, Laura.
Young, Kathy L.
Date: 2006.
In: Arctic. (2006.), Vol. 59(1) (2006)
Abstract: Examines differences and similarities inherent in three techniques used to delineate lakes and small ponds in extensive wetland area near Cresswell Bay, Somerset Island. Mapping techniques compared are satellite mapping, black-and-white aerial photography, and topographic map sheet. Results indicate that, while all three techniques could delineate large lake boundaries and positions successfully, they differ in number of ponds delineated, as well as boundaries and positions.
