Abstract: Describes periglacial forms found on Varanger peninsula, north-easternmost part of Norway. Peninsula is crossed by 1°C isotherm and areas above 500 m a.s.l. have discontinuous permafrost. Maritime climate with frequent frost-thawing cycles causes high rate of frost weathering. Reviews deglaciation history and describes and illustrates: blockfields, talus, ice wedge polygons (mainly fossil), patterned ground, thufur, palsas, solifluction lobes, coastal processes including influence of isostatic uplift, and thermokarst depressions in raised beach complex.
