| Abstract: | Reports observations of dirt cone formation and decay from Gornergletscher and Steinlimigletscher. Describes where phenomena are naturally found, their appearance, regular shape and life cycle. Reports experimental deposition of three 50 cm diameter sand piles, and formation over 45 days of three dirt cones around 50 cm high and 85 cm across. Describes late summer weather conditions prevailing during experiment. |
