Record #177405:

Ice on Mercury and the Moon / Bryan Butler.

Title: Ice on Mercury and the Moon / Bryan Butler.
Author(s): Butler, Bryan.
Date: 2004.
Publisher: Cambridge: Cambridge University Press
In: Icy worlds of the solar system. (2004.),
Abstract: Discusses possibility of existence of water ice in polar regions of Mercury and Moon. Describes sources of information about Mercury, including radar maps apparently showing large amounts of water ice in polar regions and explanations proposed. Examines conditions necessary for water ice to exist and concludes this is likely. Discusses case for water ice on Moon, e.g., in polar craters, using evidence from terrestrial telescopes and Clementine and Lunar Prospector missions. Discusses possibility of exploiting deposits if they exist and future missions to Mercury and Moon.
