Date: 2006.
Language: Japanese.
In: Seppyo : Journal of the Japanese Society of Snow and Ice. (2006.), Vol. 68(4) (2006)
Abstract: Uses observational data from Arctic Finland in statistical analysis of effects of dominant shapes of composed crystals, horizontal size distribution, degree of circularity of projection images of snow particles, and meteorological elements on dry new snow density. Reports observations of compressive viscosity of dry new snow for several dominant crystal shapes of snowfall particles. Reports new snow density strongly related to dominant shapes of composed crystal and mean precipitation intensity. Obtains statistically significant regression equations for several dominant crystal shapes of snowfall particles relating new snow density to mean precipitation intensity and compressive viscosity of new snow to new snow density.
