Abstract: Applies κ-ε turbulence model in fluid dynamical analysis of snowdrift, adopting concentration gradient and concentration flux as boundary conditions at bottom of snowdrift. Notes usefulness of concept of snow entrainment coefficient as variable related to flow and snow particle properties. Compares results with wind velocity profile and snowdrift flux in wind tunnel experiment. Calculates Garcia's parameter Z using diameter obtained by balancing drag force and gravitational and buoyant forces on snow particles. Compares diameter obtained by SPC (snow particle counter) with that obtained by present method, examining relationship between sand and/or snow entrainment coefficient and Z.
