| Abstract: | Describes FRAMZY 2002 (Fram Strait Cyclone Experiment) and ACSYS-ABSIS 2003 (Arctic Climate System Study - Arctic Atmospheric Boundary Layer and Sea Ice Interaction Study) campaigns, summarising purpose, ice concentrations and drifter deployment via parachute and research vessel. Describes data and basic analysis, including drifter location and trajectory interpolation methods (compares results of optimal (kriging) and polynomial interpolations). Describes gathering and quality control of meteorological data from drifters. Presents results for two campaigns, roughly covering March-May 2002 and April-May 2003, including drifter trajectories and velocities and buoy meteorological data. |
