Glacial limits in the middle and southern Rocky Mountains, U.S.A. south of the Yellowstone Ice Cap / Dennis E. Dahms.

Title: Glacial limits in the middle and southern Rocky Mountains, U.S.A. south of the Yellowstone Ice Cap / Dennis E. Dahms.
Author(s): Dahms, Dennis E.
Date: 2004.
Publisher: Amsterdam: Elsevier
In: Quaternary glaciations - extent and chronology : Part II North America. (2004.),
Abstract: Discusses mapped limits for glacial deposits of Middle and Southern Rocky Mountains of USA except Yellowstone National Park and immediately adjacent ranges in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho (Teton, Absaroka, Gallatin and Beartooth ranges). Mapped limits include those of: maximum Pleistocene glaciation; Pinedale (Late Wisconsinan, LGM) glaciation; Bull Lake glaciation (Illinoian); deposits thought to correlate to European Younger Dryas. Reviews history of Rocky Mountain glacial succession and description of type units, including pre-Bull Lake glaciations (Sacajawea Ridge, Cedar Ridge and Washaki Point). Discusses separately mapping of limits in Wyoming and Colorado and poses open questions.
