Date: 2004.
Publisher: Amsterdam: Elsevier
In: Quaternary glaciations - extent and chronology : Part II North America. (2004.),
Abstract: Reviews glacial history, describing evolution following Last Glacial Maximum and presenting tentative model of Laurentide ice-front retreat from 13-6 ka B.P. Notes area was completely covered by Laurentide Ice Sheet during Wisconsinan, except for Torngat Mountains nunataks. Upper Pleistocene is represented only by scattered stratigraphic sections in southern Québec and erosional marks. Covers in detail: deglaciation in southern Québec during Late Wisconsinan, St. Lawrence ice stream, Younger Dryas, deglaciation of Canadian Shield area during Early Holocene, ice retreat in southern margin of New Québec Dome and elsewhere in region, through to last deglaciated areas in Nunavik, Central New Québec and western Labrador.
