| Abstract: | Describes Great Basin, noting that forty individually named ranges, plateaux and massifs draining wholly or partly into it show definite evidence of Pleistocene cirque and/or valley glaciers. Outlines basin's major glacial deposits, their dating and interpretation. Maps ranges that supported Pleistocene glaciers. Only one, very small, nearly defunct glacier survives in central Great Basin. Poses unresolved problems, suggesting cosmogenic dating may help resolve them. |
