| Abstract: | Presents overview of recent findings in south-western Rocky Mountains Foothills and nearby areas of Montana and Alberta. These studies employed modern dating and modelling techniques were employed to define stratigraphical units and relate them to glacial limits and drift sheets recognised during superficial geology mapping. They also investigated interstratified fossil soils and pre-LGM montane drift deposits along continental divide east of Rocky Mountains front, and re-examined glacial stratigraphy in central and west central Alberta. Report revises past conclusions about Quaternary glacial geology and history of region and summarises its superficial geology. |
