| Abstract: | Observes that fluctuations of glacier margins in Alps, Caucasus, Tien Shan and Eastern Pamirs during second half of 20th century occurred synchronously with change in solid precipitations from year to year. Changes in total annual solid precipitation in mountains situated to north and to south of 55°N occur in opposition, which is reflected in glacier fluctuations. Hence glaciers of Scandinavia fluctuate, as a rule, in anti-phase with those of other mentioned mountain areas. |
