Abstract: | Reports mathematical modelling and numerical experiments to estimate impact of climate warming on depth and time of soil freezing and thawing in northern West Siberia. Investigates scenario of rise in mean annual air temperature from -9.9°C by 6°C over 100 years, with differing winter and summer changes. Models impacts of snow cover thickness, moss cover and ground humidity. Investigates dependence of time for talik formation on average annual and maximum snow thicknesses, predicting earlier formation when average annual thickness increases in climate warming conditions. |
