Lists locations, dimensions, lifetimes, etc., of some ice islands calved over period 1946-1982, and presents trajectory map of Severnyy Polyus (North Pole) drifting ice stations established on six of them. Notes faster area loss due to calving in periods 1930-50, 1961-62 and 1982, and possibly beginning of 21st century. Attributes this to climate warming, directly and through change of wind direction, lowering of ice centre of balance, etc.
