The structure of the expanded brown bear population at the edge of the Finnish range / Ilpo Kojola, Samuli Heikkinen.

Title: The structure of the expanded brown bear population at the edge of the Finnish range / Ilpo Kojola, Samuli Heikkinen.
Author(s): Kojola, Ilpo.
Heikkinen, Samuli.
Date: 2006.
In: Annales Zoologici Fennici. (2006.), Vol. 43(3) (2006)
Abstract: Examines regional differences in population structure of peripheral brown bear (Ursus arctos) based on geographic location of male and female bears shot in Finland from 1954-2003. Results provide evidence that peripheral Finnish brown bear increases towards both north and west, possibly because of higher harvesting rate in north and recent population expansion from east.
