Geophysical and petrophysical characteristics of host rocks, alteration zones and structures associated with gold mineralization in the Yellowknife domain / T.J. Katsube, J. Kerswill, S. Connell, P. Keating, H. Falck, N. Scromeda-Perez.
Title: | Geophysical and petrophysical characteristics of host rocks, alteration zones and structures associated with gold mineralization in the Yellowknife domain / T.J. Katsube, J. Kerswill, S. Connell, P. Keating, H. Falck, N. Scromeda-Perez. |
Author(s): | Katsube, T. J. Kerswill, J. Connell, S. Keating, P. Falck, H. Scromeda-Perez, N. |
Date: | 2006. |
Publisher: | St John's, Nfld: Geological Association of Canada, Mineral Deposits Division |
In: | Gold in the Yellowknife Greenstone Belt, Northwest Territories : results of the EXTECH III multidisciplinary research project. (2006.), |
Abstract: | Reports results of geophysical and petrophysical survey, finding that mineralized rocks in Yellowstone greenstone belt consist largely of quartz-carbonate veins and sulphide-bearing, sericite-rich schists ("phyllite") that are geophysically distinct from relatively unaltered rocks outside major deformation zones hosting much of gold mineralization. Also finds clear correlation between coincident high IP (base metal sulphides or oxides) - high K (potassic alteration) and gold mineralization. |
Notes: | In: Gold in the Yellowknife Greenstone Belt, Northwest Territories : results of the EXTECH III multidisciplinary research project / C.D. Anglin, H. Falck, D.F. Wright, E.J. Ambrose, eds. |
