Record #177063:

Geology and geochemistry of the Bell Lake volcanic complex and its relationship to the Yellowknife greenstone belt / V.A. Jackson, B.L. Cousens.

Title: Geology and geochemistry of the Bell Lake volcanic complex and its relationship to the Yellowknife greenstone belt / V.A. Jackson, B.L. Cousens.
Author(s): Jackson, V. A.
Cousens, B. L.
Date: 2006.
Publisher: St John's, Nfld: Geological Association of Canada, Mineral Deposits Division
In: Gold in the Yellowknife Greenstone Belt, Northwest Territories : results of the EXTECH III multidisciplinary research project. (2006.),
Abstract: Analyses geology of Bell Lake volcanic complex. Notes that volcanic and sedimentary rocks are part of pan-Slave Archaean Yellowknife Supergroup that were deposited on, and intruded by, granitic rocks. Complex includes most of geologic components of Yellowstone greenstone belt and adjacent rocks including Central Slave Cover Group, Central Slave Basement Complex, mafic pillow lavas with minor tuffaceous units, upper sequence with proportionately more felsic rocks, gabbro and ultramafic intrusions, conformably overlain by Burwash-type sedimentary rocks.
