| Abstract: | Reports analysis of concentrations of 12 metals and hydrocarbons in gross sediments collected at 22 locations in Beaufort Lagoon and at one natural oil seep. Finds that concentrations of metals and hydrocarbons are generally lower than those reported for polluted marine sediments; also that hydrocarbon components are essentially from terrestrial and biogenic sources. Detects no impression of natural oil seep or anthropogenic activities on sediment trace metals and hydrocarbon profile. |
