Abstract: Surveys 13 major limited entry roe herring fisheries in Alaska, using questionnaire seeking information about levels of experience, attitude towards management policies, and demographics. Analysis of replies indicates that single most crucial management issue to fishery permit holders is conservation of resource, with next two most important issues being fish quality and fish prices. Respondents were generally unfavourable to alternative fishery management systems.
