Ecological characteristics and ratings for soils of Arctic Canada / Manfred Bölter, Hans-Peter Blume.
Title: | Ecological characteristics and ratings for soils of Arctic Canada / Manfred Bölter, Hans-Peter Blume. |
Author(s): | Bölter, Manfred. Blume, Hans-Peter. |
Date: | 2006. |
In: | National Institute of Polar Research. Memoirs. Special Issue. (2006.), Vol. 59 (2006) |
Abstract: | Presents results from terrestrial research group of Swedish-Canadian expedition "Tundra Northwest 1999". Finds great variability in chosen soil samples with respect to local aspects. Elevated contents of organic matter are abundant, especially at mesic sites with full vegetation cover. Observes strong differences in contents of oxalate extractable iron. Notes influence of climate conditions on soil, also enrichment with salts from neighbouring sea shore. |
Notes: | National Institute of Polar Research. Memoirs. Special Issue. Vol. 59 :63-78 (2006). |
