Record #176679:
Chron C33r paleomagnetic pole for the Pacific plate / William W. Sagar.
Title: | Chron C33r paleomagnetic pole for the Pacific plate / William W. Sagar. |
Author(s): | Sagar, William W. |
Date: | 2003. |
In: | Geophysical Research Letters. (2003.), Vol. 30(16) (2003) |
Abstract: | Calculates Pacific plate palaeomagnetic pole for Chron C33r (79-83 Ma) using data from Deep Sea Drilling Project and Ocean Drilling Program basalt and sediment cores. C33r pole resulting from calculations implies that prior poles of this age, based on seamount anomaly inversion data, are inaccurate. It changes shape of Pacific apparent polar wander path and implies rapid polar motion before C33r followed by polar standstill. |
Notes: | Geophysical Research Letters. Vol. 30(16) :SDE 14.1-14.4 (2003). |
