Deep-water flow over the Lomonosov Ridge in the Arctic Ocean / M.-L. Timmermans, P. Winsor, J.A. Whitehead.
Title: | Deep-water flow over the Lomonosov Ridge in the Arctic Ocean / M.-L. Timmermans, P. Winsor, J.A. Whitehead. |
Author(s): | Timmermans, M. -L. Winsor, P. Whitehead, J. A. |
Date: | 2005. |
In: | Journal of Physical Oceanography. (2005.), Vol. 35(8) (2005) |
Abstract: | Reports research to quantify renewal of deep waters in isolated Canadian Basin, calculating magnitude of renewal where circumstances have prevented direct measurements, using hydraulic theory and hydrographic observations. Finds that volume flow is sufficiently large to have greater impact on Canadian Basin deep water than either geothermal heat flux or diffusive fluxes at deep-water boundaries. |
Notes: | Journal of Physical Oceanography. Vol. 35(8) :1489-1496 (2005). |
