Abstract: Reports observation of plume of water vapour in Arctic above 85 km and one day after August space shuttle launch; also, satellite observation of appearance of discrete region of polar mesospheric clouds (PMCs), one week after launch. Calculates that water contained in observed PMCs is consistent with amount injected by shuttle.
