Date: 2003.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (2003.), Vol. 30(18) (2003)
Abstract: Reports comparison of two satellite-derived decadal scale climatologies of UV daily doses based on independently developed methods. Climatologies are intercompared, then compared with surface measurements. Study focuses on high latitudes close to 70° (Northern Norway), region initially expected to be particularly problematic for geostationary satellites. Finds coefficients in range from 0.91-0.97 for intercomparison and 0.93 for comparison with surface measurements.
