| Abstract: | Describes characteristics of two suites of greywackes cropping out to north and south of Skellefte River. Differences suggest that greywackes formed on different sides of Bothnian palaeo-ocean at different times. Deep reflection profiles across region indicate orogenic wedge defined by two suites of imbricate thrusts converging downwards to significant offset in Moho. Notes that mylonites of Skellefte terrane boundary juxtapose southern terrane of old gneisses deformed at great depth against northern terrane that never reached such depths. |
