Abstract: Collection of 20 interdisciplinary conference papers exploring intellectual legacy of Jesup North Pacific Expedition of 1897-1902, evaluating expedition from perspective of impact on anthropology of late 19th and early 20th century, and re-evaluating impact in light of today's understandings. Coverage includes consideration of work of key members of Jesup team, modern perspectives on Jesup research, and ways in which museum resources have become part of local efforts to sustain cultural heritage of indigenous people.
