Abstract: | Examines distribution of long-tailed ducks (Clangula hyemalis), eiders (Somateria spp.) and scoters (Melanitta spp.) in three barrier-lagoon systems, determining concentrations for each species during 16 aerial surveys. Finds long-tailed ducks to be 13 times more numerous than eiders and 38 times more numerous than scoters. Computes and maps density contours, showing patterns of repeated habitat use over period of sampling. |
