Abstract: Examines prevalence and characteristics of steatosis in Alaska Natives/American Indians with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, using outcomes study (begun in 1994) with 988 subjects enrolled (including 222 patients with positive HCV RNA who underwent liver biopsy). Finds correlation between incidence of moderate to severe steatosis and genotype.
