| Abstract: | Offers predictions of prevalence of type 2 diabetes and associated burden to health care system in Greenland posed by diabetic complications by 2014, using projection model based on two cross-sectional population surveys from 1993 and 1999. Forecasts that prevalence of type 2 diabetes will increase in Greenland, with number of complications doubling from 1999 to 2014. Recommends prophylactic and treatment initiatives to deal with extra burden to health care system. |
