Record #176517:

Sex determination and sexual size-dimorphism in southern giant-petrels (Macronectes giganteus) from Patagonia, Argentina / S. Copello, F. Quintana, G. Somoza.

Title: Sex determination and sexual size-dimorphism in southern giant-petrels (Macronectes giganteus) from Patagonia, Argentina / S. Copello, F. Quintana, G. Somoza.
Author(s): Copello, S.
Quintana, F.
Somoza, G.
Date: 2006.
In: Emu. (2006.), Vol. 106(2) (2006)
Abstract: Uses genetic sexing techniques to develop predictive morphometric discriminant function models for fledgling and adult southern giant petrels, based on studies at northern extreme of species' distribution. Bill length alone was sufficient to predict sex of adults and fledglings within 8 weeks of hatching.
