Record #176510:

Lichen trimlines in the Peace-Athabasca Delta: variations in flora, form, and disturbance regime / Kevin P. Timoney, Janet Marsh.

Title: Lichen trimlines in the Peace-Athabasca Delta: variations in flora, form, and disturbance regime / Kevin P. Timoney, Janet Marsh.
Author(s): Timoney, Kevin P.
Marsh, Janet.
Date: 2005.
In: Canadian Field-Naturalist. (2005.), Vol. 119(1) (2005)
Abstract: Examines water-origin saxicolous lichen trimlines on acidic metacrystalline bedrock outcrops in Peace-Athabasca Delta. Finds 27 species of saxicolous lichens in vicinity of trimlines, with species richness above trimline (26) being almost twice that found below (14). Suggests colonisation lag time, differences in susceptibility to disturbance, and site influences on lichen establishment and survival might be involved in absence of many species below trimlines.
