Abstract: Analyses aerosol samples collected from route of Second Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition (Japan Sea, Okhostk Sea, Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean) in 2003. Finds that marine aerosols predominate, with ions Na⁺ and Cl⁻ accounting for 55.6% of total aerosol loading. Also notes deficiency in Cl⁻ concentration in aerosol compared with sea-water and suggests that depletion is due to reaction between sea salt and H₂SO₄ in atmosphere.
