Abstract: Observes significant emissions in high-latitude magnetosheath direction during extreme solar wind condition on 11 April 2001, using Low Energy Neutral Atom imager on IMAGE spacecraft. Notes that emission was modulated so that sources shifted equatorward in high-latitude sheath while sometimes undergoing brief poleward returns. Signals recorded by SuperDARN over period of interest indicate that equatorward motion of cusp latitude consists of rapid and slow phases.
